Siamo in Palestina.
“Benvenuti in Palestina. Benvenuti nella nostra terra, dove la Nakba non è mai finita”, così ci ha salutato Osama, il responsabile del centro legale “Community Action”, il primo dei tanti incontri che faremo in questi giorni. Il “Community Action” si occupa di fornire supporto legale gratuito a tutte le famiglie palestinesi, soprattutto per quanto riguarda i processi per il diritto alla residenza e alla proprietà delle terre.
Stiamo partecipando a una brigata internazionale di solidarietà come Assemblea dei Popoli organizzata da Progressive International in occasione del triste anniversario della Nakba.
75 anni dalla Nakba, dalla “tragedia” che vide decine di migliaia di Palestinesi espulsi dalle loro case, dalle loro strade, dalla loro terra.
75 anni durante il quale lo Stato di Israele continua la sua incessante azione di apartheid, fisica, violenta, culturale, ideologica, politica.
Il nostro obiettivo sarà quello di conoscere, ascoltare, contribuire nel nostro piccolo a sfondare il muro mediatico che impedisce alle palestinesi e ai palestinesi di parlare.
Se Ursula Von Der Leyen promuove “la più grande democrazia del Medio Oriente”, nostro compito sarà quello di dare voce “al più grande popolo in lotta”.
We are in Palestine!
“Welcome to Palestine. Welcome to our land, where the Nakba never ended,” that is the way how Osama, head of the legal centre “Community Action”, welcomed us. It Is the first of a serie of meetings we will hold over the next few days. “Community Action” is in charge of providing free legal support to all Palestinian families, especially with regard to processes for the right to residence and land property.
As International Peoples’ Assembly we are participating in an international solidarity brigade organised by the Progressive International on the occasion of the sad anniversary of the Nakba.
75 years since the start of Nakba, the ‘catastrophe’ that saw tens of thousands of Palestinians expelled from their homes, their streets, their land.
75 years during which the State of Israel continues its relentless action of apartheid – physically, violently, culturally, ideologically, politically.
Our aim is to learn, to listen, to contribute in our own small way to breaking through the media wall that isolates Palestinians and prevents them from speaking out.
If Ursula Von Der Leyen promotes ‘the greatest democracy in the Middle East’, our task is to give voice to ‘the greatest people in struggle’.
