La Resistenza l’ha mostrato: per le donne non c’è liberazione senza rivoluzione. (MFPR)

Si può ancora parlare nel 2019 di Resistenza come una lotta combattuta prevalentemente da uomini e in le cui donne avevano un ruolo “minore” , al di fuori della Resistenza armata, oppure nessun ruolo se non quello di appoggiare passivamente l’amato/il marito/il fratello/il padre partigiano che andava a combattere?

Noi crediamo di no. In questo momento in cui in altre parti del mondo vediamo le donne prendere potere e agire da protagoniste nella lotta per l’auto determinazione e la creazione di nuovi modi di convivenza sociale (come le combattenti YPJ in Siria), noi crediamo che sia arrivato il momento di dare spazio e voce alle Donne della Resistenza antifascista italiana, come modello da cui trarre ispirazione e su cui fondare le nostre lotte presenti.

Il Tavolo Genere di Potere al Popolo Torino invita a ricordare l’anniversario della Liberazione attraverso la condivisione di un pomeriggio con diversi momenti:

h. 18,00 presentazione dell’opuscolo “Donne e Resistenza. Un lavoro su ieri, per l’oggi” scritto dalle compagne del MFPR di Milano (Movimento Femminista Proletario Rivoluzionario). Il lavoro di documentazione e ricerca illustra l’enorme contributo che le donne diedero alla lotta contro il fascismo, dal Biennio Rosso alla Resistenza Partigiana.

h. 19:00 visione del documentario animato “Bimba col pugno chiuso”, un’intervista alla partigiana romana Giovanna Marturano (prodotto da Produzioni dal basso).

Giovanna Marturano, morta nel 2013 all’età di 101 anni, è stata una delle figure più importanti della Resistenza romana. Antifascista per tutta la vita, fu attiva nel movimento femminista e dopo la guerra continuò a essere militante in movimenti e lotte.

The Resistance has shown us that there is no women’s liberation without revolution. (MFPR)

In 2019, can we still talk about the Resistance as a predominantly male movement? Can we still say that women had a “minor” role outside the armed resistance or no role at all apart from passively supporting their Partisan lover/husband/brother/father who left them to go and fight?

We believe we can’t anymore. At this very moment in time we see women in other parts of the world take power and fight on the front line to create self-determination and a new society (e.g. the YPJ fighters in Syria). So, we think it’s time to give space and voice to the Women of the Italian Antifascist Resistance as a model to inspire us in our current battles.

Potere al Popolo’s Gender Committee invites you to celebrate the anniversary of the Liberation through a series of events:

6pm – presentation of the booklet ‘Women & Resistance. A research on the past for the present’, written by comrades from MFPR Milan (Proletarian Revolutionary Feminist Movement). This research documents the enormous contribution that women made to the fight against fascism, both at the beginning of the fascist regime and during the Partisan Resistance.

7pm – screening of the animated documentary ‘Little girl with a raised fist’, an interview with the Roman antifascist partisan Giovanna Marturano (produced by Produzioni dal basso – a grassroots initiative).

Giovanna Marturano was one of the most prominent figures of the Roman Resistance. She died in 2013 at the age of 101. She was an antifascist throughout her life, and was active in the feminist and various other movements after the war.

After the screening – discussion and aperitivo (donations welcome!).
