La sera di sabato 2 giugno a Vibo Valentia è stato assassinato uno di noi, un lavoratore, un bracciante, un attivista sindacale dell’USB, un compagno che difendeva i diritti dei sui colleghi di lavoro, che lottava per migliorare le condizioni di vita delle migliaia di braccianti pagati pochi euro per ore di duro lavoro e costretti a vivere in tendopoli fatiscenti.
Si chiamava Soumaila Sacko, aveva 29 anni. Altri due braccianti che erano assieme a lui sono stati feriti dalla stessa mano assassina.
Sono decine se non centinaia i sindacalisti e gli attivisti politici uccisi dal dopoguerra ad oggi nel sud Italia dagli sgherri del padronato.
Ma dal momento che Soumaila Sacko era un immigrato originario del Mali, un africano, si è cercato prima di infangarne la memoria sostenendo che era stato ucciso durante un furto e poi di nascondere le vere responsabilità di questo assassinio attribuendolo ad una mente malata.
Noi ribadiamo con forza che quello di Soumaila Sacko è stato un assassinio padronale, come quello Abd Elsalam Ahmed Eldanf, sindacalista USB ucciso nel settembre 2016 a Piacenza.

Le soir du samedi 2 juin à Vibo Valentia, l’un d’entre nous a été assassiné, un travailleur, un ouvrier agricole, un syndicaliste de l’USB, un compagnon qui défendait les droits de ses collègues de travail, qui luttaient pour améliorer les conditions de vie de milliers de travailleurs, payaient quelques euros pour des heures de dur labeur et étaient forcés de vivre dans des camps de tentes délabrées.
Il s’appelait Soumaila Sacko, 29 ans. Deux autres ouvriers qui étaient avec lui ont été blessés par la même main meurtrière.
Depuis la fin de la guerre dans le sud de l’Italie, des dizaines, voire des centaines de syndicalistes et d’activistes politiques ont été tués par des voyous d’employeurs.
Mais comme Soumaila Sacko était un immigré du Mali, un Africain, ils ont d’abord essayé de brouiller sa mémoire en prétendant qu’il avait été tué lors d’un vol, puis de cacher la véritable responsabilité de ce meurtre en l’attribuant à un esprit malade.
Nous réitérons avec force que l’assassinat de Soumaila Sacko était un assassinat manorial, comme celui d’Abd Elsalam Ahmed Eldanf, un syndicaliste USB tué en septembre 2016 à Piacenza.

On the evening of Saturday 2 June in Vibo Valentia one of us was murdered, a worker, a labourer, a USB trade union activist, a companion who defended the rights of his colleagues at work, who struggled to improve the living conditions of thousands of labourers paid a few euros for hours of hard work and forced to live in dilapidated tent camps.
He was called Soumaila Sacko, 29 years old. Two other labourers who were with him were injured by the same murderous hand.
Tens if not hundreds of trade unionists and political activists have been killed since the end of the war in southern Italy by employers’ thugs.
But since Soumaila Sacko was an immigrant from Mali, an African, we tried first to muddy his memory by claiming that he had been killed during a theft and then to hide the real responsibility of this murder by attributing it to a sick mind.
We strongly reiterate that the assassination of Soumaila Sacko was a manorial assassination, like that of Abd Elsalam Ahmed Eldanf, a USB trade unionist killed in September 2016 in Piacenza.
